Josh Rettig is an 18 year old senior at Windsor High School and an avid power soccer player. Josh has Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy and uses a power wheelchair on a full-time basis. He began playing power soccer seven years ago at the age of 11. The sport attracted him because it provided him the opportunity to participate in a competitive sport that his able bodied friends also enjoyed.
Since that time, the sport of power soccer has become much more for Josh. Power soccer has taught Josh about teamwork, perseverance, hard work, commitment and the ability to be gracious in wins and losses. These are lessons that have carried over into and benefit him in his everyday life.
Josh also enjoys reading science fiction books, playing video games and watching science fiction and comedy movies. He also is a dog lover and spends a lot of time playing with his support dog, Halle.
After high school graduation, Josh plans to attend college and study digital media.
